Welcome to our film session....



Lives through a lens: children's experience of war, street life and human trafficking.


MSc in Childhood Studies would like introduce real and multifaceted lives of children in difficult situations around the world as way to raise awareness on issues concerning children’s rights. As part of our film project we are delighted to invite you to the first film showing followed by discussion. Please arrive 5-10 minutes earlier to arrange seating. Below are the details:



Topic: Child Trafficking


Film: Trade of Innocents. 2012. 90 minutes.

A couple grieving the loss of their own daughter set out to rescue young girls sold into the sex slave trade (description IMDb).

Facilitator: Dorothy Neriah Muraya, a graduate in psychology at USIU Nairobi, who has worked with children in several capacities, most recently, with victims of child sexual abuse. Research interest is in child exploitation in the form of sexual abuse and trafficking.
